I will be shooting images from the town of Cesky Krumulov for the National Museum of the Philippines.
The Philippines and the Czech Republic have deep historical ties. Proof of this was the first medical pharmacy in the Philippines having been established by a subject of the Czech Kingdom named “Georg Joseph Kamel” in Manila back in the 1600s. Joseph Kamel was a Jesuit missionary from the Jesuit Province of Bohemia. There he treated a large population of Luzon for free. Today a similar pharmacy established by George Joseph Kamel from the 1600s still exists in the town of Cesky Krumulov and is the subject of this photo project for the National Museum of the Philippines. This project aims to deepen the cultural and historical ties between the two nations of the Philippines and the Czech Republic.
